Sewing 101 - Part 2: You will learn about basic patterns; structure and types of fabrics; types of needles, sewing a button hole, and sewing on a button. You will make an envelope bag as part of the class.

Sewing 101 - Part 3: You will learn how to sew a zipper, troubleshoot your common sewing problems, and how & when to set the tension on your sewing machine. You will make a square-bottom zipper pouch as part of this class.

Price of class includes fabric for your creation, thread and tools available in studio for your use

  • We provide machines with the class! You do not need to own a sewing machine to take this class. However, if you have your own machine we encourage you to bring it. That way, you can learn on your own machine!

  • Scroll down! You should see our calendar of listings. Just click on which days and times you want, and it will take you directly to the registration page.

  • Absolutely! These classes are designed to teach sewing all the way from the basics. In fact, if you have never sewn before, we recommend you start with this series?

  • Yes! Children 9 and above can also be registered for Sewing 101. If you have a younger child, they are welcome to sit with you.

As for parents waiting on children, we do have waiting space. However, on Saturdays, we are often booked enough that we cannot offer space to wait. Thank you for understanding!

  • We offer credit for cancelled classes. We can absolutely transfer you to another class!

Unfortunately, we do charge a late cancellation/transfer fee if you give us less than 24 hour notice. We do waive the fee on a case-by-case basis (such as for emergencies), but we cannot waive the fee if we don’t know. Please call us at (210) 375-5241 if you can’t make your class!

  • The big question. A lot of people move on to our Basic Alterations when their done. Others jump directly into our Sew & Steady garment making series. If you don’t care for making or altering garments, we have Sew EZ, our series for everything else (accessories, bags, home projects). It all depends on what you want to make!
